Notes:
In 1964, the British invaded America all over again. Not Redcoats this time, but in mop-headed, flop-haired groups of four or five. Since history seemingly repeats itself, the United States is now marshalling its forces to protect the American Way of Music. Among the staunch defenders are five swinging gentlemen known as Paul Revere & The Raiders. Ironically, Paul Revere is the real name of the musical Minuteman who leads the group. Somewhat paralleling the Beatles' emergence from Liverpool, Paul and the rocking Raiders are causing a sudden surge of excitement. So, while Paul Revere & The Raiders were recently heading various concerts and dances around the country, Columbia Records seized the opportunity to go along and record them. Their debut presents highlights of that enormously successful tour. Now, in 1965, watch out for Paul Revere & The Raiders, everyone - HERE THEY COME! (Roger Hart, music coordinator for Paul Revere & The Raiders) While still in his teens, Paul Revere was running a drive-in theater and two barbershops in Boise, Idaho. One night, wilse listening to a combo in a teenage dance club, he was asked to sit in on piano - and ended up leading the group. Later, he invited his friend, Mark Lindsay to join him as lead vocalist. All the members of the group are from Idaho. Since forming a group, they have been playing at packed dances all over the country. And long after a dance is scheduled to be over, things are still jumping. Pressing variation: Pressing rings on sides A and B do not seem to match each other, and also do not match [r9810343 which appears to have CBS Don Mills pressing rings.
